Our Quiltmakers

Two more beautiful quilt blocks have found their way to Parkway Playhouse!

Diane Griffith
Diane Griffith of the Piece Makers Quilt Guild
Laura Nelson
Laura Nelson of Spruce Pine

These are quite *dramatic* blocks, aren’t they?

We’re still in need of many more blocks: simple or complicated patterns, it doesn’t matter — expert or beginner, all skill levels and ages should be represented! So, use this grey day to create some beauty! We’d like to have all the blocks by April 9 so we can piece the quilt top and have it quilted in time for the opening—because Kristen Livengood, director of the show, said that she’d like to use this quilt ON SET for The Quiltmaker. It will actually be ON STAGE during the play!

Thank you Dianne and Laura!

Parkway Playhouse, located in the Appalachian town of Burnsville, NC, is a haven of theatre talent. While people come to the mountains to get away, Parkway Playhouse is a natural gathering place to connect. Likewise, we are an extension of traditional mountain talents: singing, dancing, and, foremost, storytelling. By giving rise to energetic new voices and through a wide variety of plays and musicals, we invite our audience into experiences that are thought-provoking, adventurous, and entertaining. Together we reimagine the world in every live performance, creating dynamic conversations that last far beyond the curtain call. This blog is will feature stories, helpful information, insight and features about the performances.
