Q – Why did you audition for Esley?

A – I auditioned for this show because it has such a history behind it. I love history, especially local history. I wanted to play Ralph Peer because I resemble him somewhat and he is a shrewd business man.

Q – What has been your favorite moment from rehearsals?

A – The music and the musicians. They are outstanding.

Q -What is your favorite song from the show?

A – Cannonball Blues. First of all I love blues music. Secondly, Mother Maybelle and Esley do it so well.

Q – How does it feel playing an actual person?

A – I have played actual people before so I feel comfortable with the part. I love playing a sharp dressed man.

Q – If you got to hang out with your character for a day where would take them and what would you talk about?

A – I would take Ralph Peer to a bar. And we would discuss the ins and outs of the record producing industry.

Q – What’s the #1 reason someone should see this show?

A – History!!! Lesley Riddle was born in Yancey County and is buried here. Hear the story!!
