For the first time ever, Parkway Playhouse Junior is expanding its horizon beyond Burnsville city limits. Starting this fall, the nationally recognized youth theater program will begin a class for your little drama kings and queens in Spruce Pine. Budding performing artists between the ages of 4 and 13 will be working on the musical A Year with Frog and Toad KIDS from September 8th to November 15th. Classes will be held from 5 to 6 P.M. on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Artist Resource Center on the second floor of the TRAC building (269 Oak Avenue, Spruce Pine). These classes are a great way for young children to relax and develop firsthand insight into the many aspects of live theater. Students are sure to enjoy singing, dancing, and their new friends.
Directed by Chelsea Wilson Thayer, a Parkway Playhouse Junior Teaching Artist and Mitchell County native, and Music Director Greg Franklin. Frog, Toad, and all their friends will knock your sock off with their performances at Mitchell High School (416 Ledger Rd, Bakersville) on November 13th and 14th. The class is $180, with a $50 fee due at the time of registration. For more information about registration, visit our website HERE or call Parkway Playhouse at 828.682.4285 Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10-4 P.M. Spaces are limited, so hurry up and sign your kids up for this fun and educational experience! Frog and Toad are very excited, and you should be, too!
