YOWza! Another Power Couple

All you can say about the other power couple in the cast is YOW-ZA! (We’re sure they’ve never heard that before.)a sey & aud.jpg

Karen Covington-Yow and Mike Yow, like the Livengoods,  also met on stage. Their story isn’t quite like Audrey and Seymore’s though, but it is true that when they first met they were in relationships with other people. When those relationships each ran their course, Mike says he looked back: “I remembered her from doing the show.”

Fortunately for this stage couple, they both work from home, so get to see plenty of each other.

It is a rare treat, though, for them to both be in the same show, since Mike often does “straight plays” while Karen’s forte is musicals. Audiences might even recognize him from last season when he played the Sheriff in Quiltmaker.

Mike was skeptical about his chances of being cast in Little Shop of Horrors, “Seymore is such an iconic role. One I’ve always wanted to play, and I’ve always liked the show.” So he was pleased to be on stage, bringing his own touches to the character–whether those be the colored bandages, the tender moments with Audrey, or the faces he pulls.

You won’t want to miss this chance to hear them perform together.

Little Shop of Horrors runs July 2 – July 16. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling (828) 682-4285
