So, where is this little girl from Parkway Playhouse’s 2005 production of Oliver now?
Recognize her in 2007’s Fiddler on the Roof?
What about when she played this iconic role in Peter Pan?
Or in this season’s opening smash success Steel Magnolias?
Yep. That “little girl” Myra McCoury graduated summa cum laude from Appalachian State this spring and has her degree and license to teach English and Theatre. The best news is, she’s still right here at Parkway Playhouse, and still conquering firsts. Sure, she’s been on stage, but Little Shop of Horrors marks the first “professional show” she’s been responsible for choreographing.
This show, with the puppets, also afforded her some unique choreographing experiences. “It was a challenge to figure out how to bring the plant to life with movement,” she says.
So, be sure to come see Myra’s newest theatre accomplishments and give her kudos. And be sure to steer clear of Audrey II’s tendrils!
Parkway Playhouse sure is proud to see all she’s achieved and to have been a part of her theatre education.
But what’s this? Is that her again in the upcoming Grease?
Little Shop of Horrors runs July 2-16. Tickets may be purchased online or by calling the box office at (828) 682-4285
Grease opens July 30!
