Craft Fair Weekend (how to get where you’re going)

Got your tickets to Grease this weekend? Why not spend the day in Burnsville Friday or Saturday and enjoy the Mt Mitchell Craft Fair? The fair closes at 5 and the shows start at 7:30. Just enough time to eat and stroll on over.

On Saturday, be sure to get your daily belly-laugh with our improv comedy troupe GET THE HOOK on the Town Square stage from 2-2:30.

Our advice is to leave a little early and try one of these alternate routes.

Coming from the West on 19E:

left on east mainWhen you come to the stop sign, turn left onto East Main.

Then, be on the lookout for the Engine Repair building at Long View Drive– turn right.  If you take this all the way up the hill it will turn 90 degrees to the left and deposit you right on School Circle — prime parking for the theatre.

If you’re coming from the East on 19E and you don’t want to touch downtown traffic with a 10-foot pole, consider turning right (north) on 197N at United Community Bank and taking the back way to the theatre.

Parkway Playhouse, located in the Appalachian town of Burnsville, NC, is a haven of theatre talent. While people come to the mountains to get away, Parkway Playhouse is a natural gathering place to connect. Likewise, we are an extension of traditional mountain talents: singing, dancing, and, foremost, storytelling. By giving rise to energetic new voices and through a wide variety of plays and musicals, we invite our audience into experiences that are thought-provoking, adventurous, and entertaining. Together we reimagine the world in every live performance, creating dynamic conversations that last far beyond the curtain call. This blog is will feature stories, helpful information, insight and features about the performances.
