Your Donation Dollars at Work

You have undoubtedly noticed that we installed a new HVAC system in the theatre last summer.  Our new, energy efficient, mini-split units have keep you cooler in the summer and have extend our season into the late Fall and early Spring by providing heat.

Get it? Mini-splits… Really, there’s no quick way to make a photo of mini-splits look cool… the point is WE ARE COOL thanks to them!

Thanks to Warren & Larissa Bare, Todd & Beth Gatts, Susan Martin, and Microsoft for their donations which allowed for this installation and a special thanks to Gary Ray for coordinating the work!

Last Fall/Winter we were offered a Challenge Grant.  Through your generous donations, we met the Challenge and have received that grant!  With the money we received we have been able to do some plumbing work so there is now hot water at the restroom sinks.  We have also recently placed energy efficient LED light bulbs in the chandeliers in the auditorium.

Our backordered speakers will be here soon which means we will soon be able to make improvements to our sound system.

What’s next?  Our Building & Grounds Committee is getting contractors scheduled to work on improvements that will help make our actors and crew be more comfortable in the back of the theatre.  And we’re hoping to install HVAC in the lobby and restrooms by the end of the year!

For years our Building & Grounds Committee has worked to keep the theatre safe and clean … to get it ready at the beginning of each season and to put it asleep each winter.  We’re thrilled to have these donations that have allowed us to make real improvements in the theatre and hope it makes our patrons’ theatre experience more enjoyable.

In addition to making our audience, actors, staff, and volunteers more comfortable, these improvements will allow us to perform our early Spring and late Fall shows in the Playhouse which saves us from having to pay rental fees on other facilities and having to transport set pieces, props, and costumes to them.

Thank you for your generous support of Parkway Playhouse!  We wouldn’t be here without you!  We hope you’re enjoying the improvements we’ve made.

Come check out the improvements this weekend at…improv
